We have a rescue dog that came from a foster home where he was being temporarily lodged. We bought him a crate, doggie bed, treats and a chew toy. At first he took to pooping on the floor and leaving the yard. I raised my voice and said “bad boy”. I shut the door to his crate so that he could not gain access and took up his dog bed for several hours. I also took away his chew toy and the positive attention that he receives regularly. It worked for both disciplinary measures. I don’t see why it wouldn’t work for any domestic doggie woe. The best part is I don’t even have to raise my hand to him to get results. So if you get a dog you may want to consider getting a bed, crate, toy, and dog treats as well. Good luck!
